Description: IMPORTANT NOTICE All Cadets and Recruits must be Crime-Free, Drug-Free and Passing in School. We are NOT a program for Juvenile Delinquents. The American Cadet Alliance Military Adventure Camp is - by far - the most realistic and challenging military training program available to a teenager who is interested in our country's Armed Forces. Do YOU have what it takes to become one of us? WE ARE THE ARMY CADETS OF THE AMERICAN CADET ALLIANCE! Have you ever repelled off a platform 50 feet in the sky? Challenged an official U.S. Army 21-station obstacle course? Crawled stealthily through “the bush” during paintball exercise? Tested your physical and emotional strength, while working as a member of a tight-knit team? Learned the basics of leadership, as taught to U.S. Military Non-Commissioned Officers? Experienced the camaraderie of training with other young people who are interested in learning about our country’s military? All of this could be available to you by attending one of the training programs conducted during the American Cadet Alliance’s (ACA) Military Adventure Camp. IMPORTANT NOTICE Though not likely, this location could be changed due to military operational priorities. SUMMER PROGRAMS Basic Cadet Training Individual Training Company (BCTI) (Fort A. P. Hill, VA) This three-week adventure is often known as "Boot Camp." Basic Cadet Training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork. Each Cadet Recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 Recruits lead by a Cadet Troop Handler and trained by a qualified Drill Instructor. Cadets will learn military drill and ceremonies and be challenged like never before! Upon completion of Recruit Training, you will earn the title "Army Cadet," and will have earned the privilege of wearing the Army Combat Uniform at a formal graduation. Newly recruited ACA Army Cadets participate in BCT during their first summer. A Recruit who does not have a burning desire to graduate will not make it through the program. Recognized Cadet Corps Indoctrination Course (RCCI) (Fort A. P. Hill, VA) An abbreviated Recruit Training program for Cadets of a Recognized Cadet Corps (RCC) who are transitioning to the ACA at an advanced grade. RCCI will provide initial training which will permit integration of the Cadet to the ACA’s heritage, culture and military standards. All participants in RCCI will attend without rank, as recruits. To graduate from RCCI, the recruit must pass the General Military Subjects Test (GMST) for the grade they are eligible for and the Physical Readiness Test/Physical Fitness Test for the grade they are eligible for. Graduates of RCCI, who meet all appointment criteria, will normally graduate at the grade permitted by ACA regulations. Each graduating RCCI Cadet will be reviewed for initial appointment based on motivation, leadership, physical fitness and other factors. Graduates of RCCI will transition to BLC during AT-2008. Failure to pass all criteria for graduation from RCCI will result in transition from RCCI to BCT during AT-2008 and ineligibility for advanced initial appointment. Basic Leader Course (BLC) (Fort A. P. Hill, VA) An intense three-week program for graduates of Recruit Training or the Recognized Cadet Corps Indoctrination. BLC provides advanced orientation in basic leadership, troop leading procedures, risk assessment, land navigation and field training, marksmanship, self-defense and team-building activities. Officer Candidate School (OCS) Phase I (Fort A. P. Hill, VA) (Adults age 18+ only) An intense 9-day course of instruction which provides Officer Candidates with an introduction to basic military subjects and leadership fundamentals, including training in military drill and ceremonies, customs and courtesies, inspections, leadership, communication skills and standards of conduct for commissioned officers. ACA-specific training will include Cadet Protection Policy Training, new unit formation procedures, unit administration, supply and procurement, training techniques and internal communications. OCS Phase I is required for commissioning in the ACA Officers’ Corps. To graduate from OCS Phase I, the candidate must pass personnel and room inspections, demonstrate proficiency in military drill and ceremonies, and pass the OCS Proficiency Examination. Failure to pass all criteria for graduation from OCS Phase I will result in ineligibility for OCS Phase II. Officer Candidate School (OCS) Phase III (Fort A. P. Hill, VA) (Adults age 18+ only) An intense 9-day residential training program which provides Officer Candidates who have completed OCS Phase II with advanced information on military subjects and leadership, professional ethics, program management, and administrative and communication skills. All applicants for the ACA Officers’ Corps, regardless of background, must complete Phase III or the Officer Basic Course (OBC). To graduate from OCS Phase III, the participant must complete Drug Demand Reduction Facilitator Certification and pass the OCS Proficiency Examination. Candidates who are 21 or older, upon completion of Phase III will normally be commissioned at OCS graduation with the approval of the Director of the Leadership Development Institute. Each graduating candidate will be reviewed for initial appointment based on motivation, leadership, physical appearance and other factors. Failure to pass all criteria for graduation from OCS Phase III will result in ineligibility for commissioning or advanced initial appointment. |
